Last week, we went on a little outing to Clark Rubber and picked up six foam off-cuts. Once we got them home, I cut them up (very roughly I might add) into 20 or so smaller pieces. Those soft blocks have been a constant source of fun ever since.
We've made houses, schools, cars, boats, towers, a gym and, of course, had a ball knocking them down!

I think those look like so much fun! I'm hoping I can track down a place around here to find some cheap or free foam! I like that they are different colors too!
ReplyDeleteThese are great! We have a bunch of normal sponges from the dollar store to build with but these look like so much more fun! I might have to go for a search for some myself. thanks for the great idea!
ReplyDeletewere they expensive ? and what did you use to cut them with please? the premade ones from clark rubber are quite expensive , so like the idea of making own.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever, clever idea! I love it!! I bet you had hours of fun building!! Thanks for linking up to TGIF! I am a new follower and would love for you to follow me back, if you want =-)

I think I spent about $10 for the off-cuts which I thought was kind steep. I cut them with a stanley knife because I was in a hurry but my husband suggested a bread knife perhaps or one of these turkey cutter thingys. I'm sure there is a better way to do it.
ReplyDeleteHow fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is a cool idea! She looks like she's having lots of fun. :)
ReplyDeleteStopped by from TGIF linky.
Fun Fun Fun! I worked at a gymnastics club, and the kids used to love building with the foam pieces.
