The Letter 'H' and the Beginnings of an Alphabet Book

It is the end of our first 'letter of the week' inspired by Ariana's Alphabet over at No Wooden Spoons.  We wrapped up our focus on the letter 'H' by flicking through some magazines and finding 'H' pictures. I thought at just two-years-old, Priya might be a little young for this but she kept an eye out and spotted hats, hearts, honey and some letters too. She didn't have the patience to sit there while I cut the images out so we just marked the pages as we went and I cut them out afterwards.

We used the pictures to make the first page of our alphabet book. The plan is to do this or something similar every week and gradually add each page to a book dedicated to letters. Gluing was the fun part. This was the first time that Priya had the attention span to stick more than a couple of things down. We took turns being in charge of the glue and choosing a spot for each picture. I got some more paper out and Priya continued to glue by herself for the rest of the morning.

And now for a recap of our week's activities.

'H' is for hearts, ham sandwiches and...

... hats!

'H' is for holes, house (I opted for drawing on the house rather than making one) and for Hairy Maclary.

And of course, 'H' is for hands.
